General Rental Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before finalising your booking. Any reservation implies full acceptance of the conditions below.

Scope & Object

These General Terms and Conditions govern any vehicle rental agreement concluded between Solstice Tours Marrakech (hereinafter "the Company") and any individual or legal entity (hereinafter "the Client") who reserves or uses a vehicle from our fleet, whether through our website, by phone, WhatsApp, or any other means.

  • The rental agreement is formed upon written confirmation (email, WhatsApp) sent by the Company.
  • These conditions apply regardless of the reservation channel used.
  • Any special terms agreed in writing take precedence over the present conditions.

Booking & Confirmation

Bookings can be made online via our website, by phone, or via WhatsApp. A booking is considered confirmed only upon receipt of written confirmation from the Company. The Company reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of equivalent or higher category if the requested vehicle is unavailable.

  • A deposit of 30 % may be required for rentals over 3 days or for premium vehicles.
  • The balance is settled at vehicle handover in cash (MAD, EUR, USD) or by Visa/Mastercard.
  • The Company cannot be held responsible for errors in reservation details provided by the Client.

Required Documents

The following documents must be presented at vehicle handover. Failure to produce valid documents entitles the Company to refuse delivery of the vehicle without any refund obligation.

  • Valid national identity card or passport.
  • Valid driving licence held for at least 1 year (original — not a copy).
  • Credit or debit card in the Client's name for the security deposit hold.
  • International driving permit required for non-Arabic/Latin-script licences.

Minimum Age & Authorised Drivers

Only drivers explicitly named in the rental agreement are authorised to drive the vehicle. The main driver and any additional drivers must meet all age and licence requirements.

  • Minimum age: 21 years old.
  • Driving licence held for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Young driver surcharge may apply for drivers aged 21–24.
  • Any unlisted driver causing an accident forfeits all insurance coverage.

Insurance & Liability

All vehicles are covered by third-party liability insurance as required by Moroccan law. Comprehensive cover (CDW – Collision Damage Waiver) is included in the rental rate unless stated otherwise.

  • CDW reduces the Client's liability to the security deposit amount in the event of damage.
  • CDW does not cover: tyres, rims, underbody, windows, interior, keys, and personal effects.
  • CDW is void in cases of gross negligence, drunk driving, or driving on prohibited terrain.
  • Super CDW (full coverage) is available as an optional add-on.

Security Deposit

A security deposit of 2,000 MAD (or equivalent) is held by credit card pre-authorisation at vehicle handover. This amount is released within 7 to 14 business days after return, provided no damage, fine, or unpaid charge is outstanding.

  • The deposit is held — not charged — unless damage or additional charges arise.
  • Deposits can only be held on a credit card (Visa or Mastercard) in the Client's name.
  • Higher deposits may apply for premium and luxury vehicles.

Fuel Policy

Vehicles are delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refuelling fee (cost of fuel + 150 MAD service charge) will be deducted from the deposit.

  • Full-to-full policy applies to all vehicles.
  • Using the wrong fuel type voids insurance and all repair costs are charged to the Client.
  • Fuel receipts are recommended as proof of refuelling before return.

Mileage

Each rental includes a daily mileage allowance as stated in the rental agreement. Any kilometres exceeding the included allowance are charged at the rate specified in the agreement.

  • Unlimited mileage is available for certain vehicle categories — check your quote.
  • Excess mileage is billed at the end of the rental at the agreed per-km rate.
  • Odometer tampering is treated as fraud and may result in legal proceedings.

Delivery, Return & Late Returns

The vehicle must be returned at the agreed date, time, and location. A grace period of 30 minutes is allowed. Beyond that, an additional day will be charged at the daily rate.

  • Delivery and collection at Marrakech Airport, Agadir, Casablanca, and other locations — fees may apply.
  • The Client must notify the Company at least 24 hours in advance to extend the rental period.
  • The Company reserves the right to recover the vehicle if it is overdue by more than 4 hours without prior notice.

Cancellation & Refund

Cancellations must be notified in writing (email or WhatsApp). Refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days to the original payment method.

  • More than 48 h before pick-up: full refund of any deposit paid.
  • Between 24 and 48 h: 50 % of the deposit is retained.
  • Less than 24 h or no-show: the full deposit is retained.
  • Cancellations due to force majeure are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Damages, Theft & Traffic Violations

The Client is responsible for any damage, theft, or loss occurring during the rental period. An inspection report is completed at handover and at return. Any new damage noted at return will be charged to the Client up to the deposit amount (or more if CDW is not applicable).

  • Damage must be reported to the Company immediately and to the police within 24 hours.
  • Traffic fines and parking tickets issued during the rental period are the Client's sole responsibility.
  • Administrative fees of 200 MAD per fine are charged for processing by the Company.
  • Any vehicle found to have been used off-road or on unpaved tracks not listed in the agreement forfeits all insurance coverage.
